Welcome, Hoom!
I think you play my husband in Road to Rivendell?

Feel free to post whatever you like in the literary discussion, ask any
questions you might have, and we'll look forward to seeing you in the

Hello! Ya'll recruited me from entmoot.
I'm female, 21, and majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing.
I've read just about everything Lord of the Rings related, and much of the mythologies that Tolkien was working from.
My user name is indicative of the fact that it was curiosity about the
character of Glorfindel that led to me reading further into HoME
instead of stopping at the Silmarillion.
I most enjoy speculating about how characters might react in absurd or
stressful situations, which can be either a silly exercise in
improbability, a usful tool for character development or best of all,
both at once.
Thanks for inviting me here! It's so new... and shiny... |

And we love shininess...
Welcome, Glorfindel's Ward! I think I can guess who you are over at Entmoot.
As for putting characters in absurd situations - that's always
great fun, since you have to know them well to figure out how they'd
react to something so out of the ordinary. _________________ 'Fair shall the end be, though long and hard shall be the road' ~ Fëanáro |

The DPR here. Some of you are known to me. Greetings, friends.
Others are new to me. Hello to you, too.
Am I the only Man here among you Elves?
I haven't seen any Dwarves around, either... _________________ "Good work. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning." ~The DPR |

Welcome, DPR!
Great to see you here.
Not many men - if any - are posting here yet.
Braeden is a woman, other than that I'm not sure about everyone's race. Perhaps Harry Potter is a man?
But I haven't seen him post yet ... _________________ Nai tengwestie nóle kalyuva kuilelya!

I'm afraid Eluchil's the closest youv'e got right now, DPR - he's half human, anyway. _________________ 'But

Welcome, DPR!
Braeden is definitely human, she's an Easterling, if I remember rightly. Don't think we have any dwarves, though... _________________ 'Fair shall the end be, though long and hard shall be the road' ~ Fëanáro |

Easterling/Gondorian... Yes, the story of my parents is quite interesting. _________________ Nárindo ~ Vanima i metta nauva, nan anda ar sarda nauva i mallë |

Who says I'm an elf?
I've just got one as a guardian. |

Should make for some good discussion and/or RP then. Especially once Eluchil gets back.
GW - you mean Glorf would take a human as a ward? _________________ 'But

It
is very much a joke. If you're ever bored and feeling willing to wade
through several years worth of amateurish parody RP, go to Entmoot and
read the Tolkien Lovers Anonymous thread (especially the
Sillymarillrion) and The War for All Middle Earth.
Though I do think that Glorfindel is rather more human friendly than
most elf-lords. He does seem to stick around the Half-Elven line for
three ages. Give or take a few centuries of being dead... he certainly
wouldn't leave a young lady alone to fend for herself. |

Strangely, I don't read a lot of fan fic (strange because I write fan fic) but I'll take your word for it.
And I agree - he also seems to know Aragorn quite well, and is friendly to hobbits. Not as xenophobic as some elves. _________________ 'But
