This is a place to post fan fiction that you've written, and get reviews from people on the board.
Reviewers, please, use constructive criticism.
I'll start - Varna and I just finished on chapter 9 of 'All Fair
Things' - a love story with Fingolfin and Anairë. It can be read here:

And if you want two to choose from, I've got one of my own here as well:

My first real attempt at writing a fighting scene - so I go straight to the Kinslaying. _________________ Nai tengwestie nóle kalyuva kuilelya!

Here's
some stuff that I wrote a long time ago. I write in R. P. G. type
things all the time, but I can't seem to get myself back into the
groove of writing about my own characters. I've got all kinds of ideas.
It's merely that transferring them from my brain for everyone to read
is the most boring part.
Here's a bunch of profiles, made over many years. I haven't checked in
on them in a while, so some should probably be updated a bit.
Nevertheless, inform me if you see any horrible mistakes in here.
---> http://www.thetolkienforum.com/showthread.php?t=17410
Here is a big thread with a bit of my main character's story. After
that is a bunch of little stories from the point of views of pieces of
armour, merely written for fun. After that is probably my favorite so
far, The Warg And His Orc. And after that, you should probably stop
reading.
That second part of my main character's story isn't as fun. But oh
well. They were all written a while ago, so I keep them around to see
how much I've learned. ---> http://www.thetolkienforum.com/showthread.php?t=17571
I shall now start reading your stuff. _________________ Strength and stupidity in numbers.

Whoops,
if double-posting is seen as especially evil around here. I'm sure that
my two posts can be merged if it is a large deal. I am merely making
this a new post because I have something entirely different to write:
reviews.
All Fair Things: First off, when is the next chapter coming out? Is
the pace of production fairly consistent? Id est, should I forget about
the story for a while to wait for the whole thing?
Second off, is this the only format that you have of the story? I
clicked the link, read the first chapter, then clicked a link to get to
the next chapter. Is there a table of contents someplace? No large
deal. Merely wondering. Third off, the love story is not my genre, but
I thank you for making this one not too nauseating.
It makes me wonder how old these characters are supposed to be, at the
time. They seem a bit too self-conscious. But then, I've never been in
love. Ick. Also, I would have thought this sort of drama would be
played out a bit differently with elves and their creepy powerses. Of
course, I have never attempted such a story, so who knows how I'd write
it?
Blood And Fire: Woah. I just looked at the date of its being posted
here, so I guess that I shouldn't complain about not having much to
read. When will we get to the Fire part of the title? It is not so bad,
so far. The elves haven't been too obnoxious yet, as elves tend to be.
I'm having fun and interested in the personalities involved. Also, I am
not a large fan of actiony scenes, myself (almost fell asleep while
watching the Battle Of Helm's Deep, was rapt with any scene involving
Gollum
). I tend to blur over the specifics or cut scenes short via something
humorous or unexpected. Not because I find them gross or anything. Just
because I am bored by them. Yay for dialogue with interesting
characters and great chemistry! _________________ Strength and stupidity in numbers.

Not a big deal at all, as long as it's for a good reason.

We're working on chapter 10 right now. I'm in the middle of finals
(which I should be studying for right now instead of posting online...)
so it may be a bit slow. Waiting for the whole thing could take years -
we intend to take it all the way to Fingolfin's death in Middle-earth,
so you're probably best to read it as a serial.

Yes, we also have the story on fanfiction.net. It can be found here.

Well, both Varna and I are far from being teenagers, and I hope have
the ability to portray love as it really is rather than how
fourteen-year-olds think it should be. Glad it's not too vomit-inducing. Fingolfin, according to our timeline, is 83 years old, making him quite young as Elves go. Anairë is probably slightly younger than that.
I'll let Varna tell you more about B&F. _________________ 'But

I'm about three sentences into the Fire part, so don't hold your
breath. But it will be there eventually. First chapter is called
Alqualondë, and the second one will be callled Losgar.
If inspiration hits me, there may even be a third chapter at some point, called Nargothrond. _________________ Nai tengwestie nóle kalyuva kuilelya!

The thought occurs to me that you people write more about Valinor than anyone else has ever done! |
